Styrofoam Stamp Art

Supplies

  • Cards & envelopes set

  • Acrylic paint, I’m using olive & crimson

  • Paper plates

  • 2 foam brushes

  • Takeout box, or any styrofoam

  • Ballpoint pen

  • Small matchbook (for tracing)

  • Mini scissors

  • Paper towel

Steps

Channel some quirky 70s flair with DIY styrofoam stamp art!

  1. Trace & cut out two squares of styrofoam using a matchbook

  2. Create a simple flower

    • Draw a circle in the middle of one of the squares of styrofoam

    • Draw an asterisk to fill the square, without drawing through the circle

    • Round it out into a simple flower

    • Color in the flower completely so that the styrofoam is pressed down

  3. Draw & cut out simple cherries

    • Draw two circles with a small indent on the top

    • Draw a simple stem connecting them

    • Draw two leaves on either side

    • Cut outside the line to not break the stems

      • Tip! Slowly cut away little pieces, a mini scissors is best for this

  4. Create handles out of tape (so you don’t get paint on your fingers!)

  5. Start stamping!

    • Tip! Tap a generous amount of paint on the raised part of the styrofoam

    • Use the flower stamp first to block out the pattern

    • Make the first stamp at the bottom in the center

    • Stamp the top corners, lining up with the previous paint

    • Tap the paint on the cherry stamp & fill in the spaces

  6. Grab the envelope

    • Stamp cherries on the back flap

  7. Repeat the steps and voila! You now have a full set of greeting cards🍒
